Description
The Lead Screw Tensioning Nut allows you to easily tension your Lead Screw. This specially designed nut when installing a Lead Screw in tension helps reduce Lead Screw ‘whip’ which occurs in Lead Screws with lengths greater than 1000mm. By installing the nut onto a Lead Screw, it helps ensure your machine runs smoothly at higher feed rates.
Pair 2 Lead Screw Tensioning Nuts with 2 Thrust Bearings, one at each end of your axis, to hold tension on the Lead Screw.

Tips and Tricks:
Get somebody to help you. Hold a spanner on one Nut that has the set screw already tightened, on the other side tighten the Nut to place tension on the Lead Screw, while holding the nut in place secure the set screw to lock the Nut in position.
If you are by yourself, energise your motor and this will help you place the right amount of tension on your Nut. With the motor energised, tighten the Nut on the other end of your axis. When the motor clicks over, just before this is the correct amount of tension on the Lead Screw.
